About GSLAD

Greater St. Louis Association of the Deaf, Inc, established 1946, is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization.

GSLAD's mission is to provide social, charitable, athletic and educational opportunities for members of GSLAD and friends of the Deaf in the Metropolitan St. Louis area.

GSLAD shall meet at least seven times a year on 2nd Saturday of the month.

GSLAD is a proud, active member of the Midwest Athletic Association of the Deaf (MAAD), United States of America Deaf Basketball (USADB), and National Softball Association of the Deaf (NSAD).

GSLAD is an affiliated member of Missouri Association of the Deaf.

History of GSLAD

GSLAD was founded in 1946 by the late Joe Gambino. It was originally named the St. Louis Silent Club. It had 30 members by the end of 1946.

In 1972, the organization was changed to Greater St. Louis Association of the Deaf, Inc.

With the growing membership, we are reaching over 175 current members. We are pleased and proud to have them aboard GSLAD! You can join us, too!
